Snoring& Sleep Apnea

Sleep Apnea Dentist

What is Sleep Apnea?
Snoring occurs when air cannot flow freely in and out of your throat due to a partial obstruction. Unlike snoring, sleep apnea patients experience a momentary, total closure of the throat during sleep. It results in repeated episodes of stopped breathing throughout the sleep cycle that can often be aggravated by stress.

Sleep Apnea Dental Services & Snoring Mouthpiece
Dr. Tabbara believes in an interdisciplinary approach in managing snoring and sleep apnea. We collaborate with family doctors, sleep specialists and ENT specialists to achieve the best results.

As an alternative to the CPAP machine, experienced dentist Dr. Nabil Tabbara provides patients in London, Ontario with a dental appliance to wear while they sleep. It relieves sleep apnea and snoring by preventing obstructions of the patient’s airway.

To facilitate the flow of air through the mouth or nose passages, the dental appliance realigns the patient’s jaw or tongue accordingly. Although a snoring mouthpiece isn’t for everyone, an oral dental appliance can go a long way to eliminate or decrease the effects of snoring and sleep apnea.

Dr. Tabbara’s sleep apnea treatments help patients and their room partners get a better, restful sleep. Treatments also decrease the serious risks of high blood pressure and strokes that are often aggravated by the lack of sufficient concentration of oxygen while sleeping.
